Official Galaxy S25 Ultra unboxing talks rounded corners, slimmer design and camera rings | Infinium-tech
Samsung shared a blog post, with some options behind the Galaxy S25 Ultra design and how it has changed compared to the previous repetitions of its head. Additionally, it posted a video directed by the S25 Ultra starring “Demo directed by the performance”.
It is an unboxing post, so it begins with packaging. This year it was replaced to facilitate a silhouette of the device rather than more realistic illustration shown on the previous boxes.
The box is made of 100% recycled paper as before and its content is quite simple: S25 Ultra, the new Bluetooth-Less S Pen, a USB C-to-C cable, a SIM Ejector and a brief manual.
Ultra models are mostly available in brown colors and 2025 models are no exception. In addition to four widely available colors, there are three which are exclusive to Samsung.com. Here they are for side-by-side comparison.
The previous ultras had rectangular designs with sharp corners – they looked cool, but were not particularly ergonomic. This year Samsung scored a goal from the corners, but it also changed the profiles of the sides – instead of goals, they are now flat. This gives the S25 trio a more consistent look (vanilla and plus models were already round corners and flat sides).
Another change in design is that Samsung managed to bring bezel below 0.2 mm, so they now measure just 1.32 mm. It allowed the company to compete with the screen diagonal with 0.1 “(6.9”). Screen Gorilla Glass Armer 2, is protected by a glass ceramic material that is more drop resistant than the previous version. And it has an anti -contemporary feature than the previous version. Which is unique to ultra.
These were not just corners, the previous ultrasa was quite heavy and thick. The Galaxy S25 Ultra loses 14 grams of weight compared to its predecessor and falls below 0.4 mm. It weighs 218g and is 8.2 mm thick.
Then there are camera rings that became infamous. Samsung says that going to a black trim instead of a silver allows the lens to mix better, while thick camera rings improve durability.
