iPhone Fold will reportedly offer iPad-like UI on inner display | Infinium-tech
Apple’s foldable iPhone is rumored to launch later this year with a wider inner display with a 4:3 aspect ratio. Now, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has shared new information about the software experience on Apple’s upcoming foldable.
According to Gurman, the upcoming iPhone Fold will bring several iOS improvements, including multitasking features inspired by iPadOS.

The foldable’s internal display is expected to support an ‘iPad-like layout’ and side-by-side apps. The report says the internal screen will be roughly the same size as the iPad Mini, prompting Apple to develop new iOS app layouts and navigation elements like an iPad-style sidebar.
However, the device will not support windowed multitasking like the iPad, nor will it run iPad apps. Despite the larger display and tablet-style interface, the foldable will still run iOS, with Gurman saying it will have simpler multitasking elements rather than the full desktop-like interface seen in iPadOS 26.

According to the report, the iPhone Fold will use a new display technology that is designed to reduce creases on the internal screen as well as improve durability. The device is also expected to have a hole-punch camera on the cover display.
The foldable is said to include a dual rear camera setup, a hole-punch camera on the inner display, and a Touch ID sensor integrated into the power button. A recent rumor also suggests that Apple may brand its first foldable as the iPhone Ultra.
