iPhone 16 family’s exact battery capacities finally revealed | Infinium-tech
Apple doesn’t like to advertise exact battery capacities for its iPhones, and so we’ve always had to rely on other sources to get them — regulatory agency certifications, teardowns, things like that. The same has been true for the recently announced iPhone 16 family, but now we have exact numbers courtesy of Brazilian regulator Anatel.
So, the iPhone 16 has a 3,561 mAh battery, which is 6.3% more than its previous model. The iPhone 16 Plus has a 4,674 mAh battery, which is 6.6% more. The iPhone 16 Pro has a 3,582 mAh battery, which is 9.4% more than the iPhone 15 Pro, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max has a 4,685 mAh battery, which is 5.5% more than the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Thus, there is a clear winner in terms of increase compared to last year’s model, and that is the iPhone 16 Pro. But that doesn’t mean that the other device doesn’t have great battery life – thanks to the A18 and A18 Pro chips used and thermal improvements in the internal design, both the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max have significantly better longevity than their predecessors despite the slight (and different) increase in battery capacity.
In addition, all iPhone 16 models support faster 25W MagSafe charging, provided you buy one of Apple’s new MagSafe chargers to take advantage of it. You’ll also need to connect it to a 30W power adapter. The new devices can also charge at up to 45W via USB-C.
iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max will become available worldwide today.
