Honor Watch 5 debuts with larger and brighter display, 15-day battery life | Infinium-tech
Alongside the global launch of its Magic V3 foldable, Honor announced a new smartwatch – the Honor Watch 5. It comes as a successor to last year’s Honor Watch 4 and features a bigger and brighter screen, better battery endurance, and more accurate health tracking.
The Honor Watch 5 is built around a square 1.85-inch AMOLED display with 450 x 390px resolution and 1,000 nits peak brightness. The smartwatch has a 6-series aluminum frame with a rotating knob for easy control, as well as a speaker and microphone for Bluetooth calls.
The Watch 5 has an IP68 rating and is 5ATM waterproof, so you can even take it swimming. It can track the usual mix of sports activities and comes with on-device GPS positioning.
It connects via Bluetooth 5.2 and has 4GB of onboard storage for storing music playlists. Talking about the software, it has Honor’s MagicOS 8.
New for this year are Honor’s scientific sleep management, healthy morning report, and quick health scans to help you stay on top of monitoring your health.
The 480mAh silicon-carbon battery on the Watch 5 offers a 21% increase in energy density compared to the battery on the Honor Watch 4. With the Honor OS Turbo X system-level power consumption optimizer, Honor claims you can get up to 15 days of battery life from the Watch 5 with regular use.
