Honor announces global rollout of its eye-tracking feature | Infinium-tech
In February, we saw an engineer use Honor’s AI-based eye-tracking feature on the Magic 6 Pro to turn a car’s engine on and off and move it back and forth. The technology was exclusive to China, but will be rolled out globally later this month.
Honor has announced that its eye-tracking feature will begin rolling out globally on August 27 and will be available on all devices including the Magic6 Pro via MagicOS 8.0. The technology allows users to interact with their phone using their eyes so they can see notifications and open apps, among other things.
Additionally, Honor announced that it is exploring more possibilities for its multimodal AI technology and developing non-invasive brain-computer interface (BCI) technology to make assistive technology accessible to all.
Honor’s BCI technology allows people to communicate with external devices using electrical signals from the brain, which could prove helpful for people with disabilities or those who require additional assistance.
BBC Storyworks made a short film about a man diagnosed with ALS 14 years ago who now uses eye-tracking technology to communicate and create artwork. You can watch it below.
