Gurman: iPhone 17 Air, new baseline iPads and iPad Airs coming this year | Infinium-tech
Apple is planning several high-profile launches in 2025, and Mark Gurman’s latest Power On newsletter gives us a taste of what’s to come in the coming months. Apple is expected to debut with new 13” and 15” MacBook Air models (J713 and J715). Both are reportedly in production and will feature the Apple M4 chip.
Next up is the iPhone SE, which is rumored to launch in Spring 2025 and have a starting price of $429. It will be the most affordable iPhone running Apple Intelligence with the same body as the iPhone 14, Apple A18 chipset and Apple’s in-house modem chips.
Gurman also believes that Apple will launch two new entry-level iPads (J481 and J482) equipped with the Apple A17 Pro chip and 8GB of RAM, just like the latest iPad Mini. These advanced specifications will allow the upcoming device to run Apple Intelligence.
These will include new iPad Air models (J607, J608, J637 and J638), which are speculated to feature the latest Apple M4 chip and the same basic design as the 11″ and 13″ iPad Air launched last year.
Moving forward, the new report also shares some details on Apple’s upcoming smart home hub device. It will have a 7-inch touchscreen that will help users “manage household tasks”, run apps and make video calls. The device can be used alone or attached to a wall in countertop mode. Apple is reportedly aiming to launch its smart home hub in March, but it may take some time for its open sales to begin.
Fall will bring the new iPhone 17 series, which includes the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and iPhone 17 Air. The Air was recently rumored to measure 5.5mm at its thinnest point – more than 2mm thinner than the current iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. It will have a “base-level A19 chip” and a single camera on the back.
