Google Play Games now lets you try the full version before you buy | Infinium-tech
Google has announced game trials in Google Play Games. As the name suggests, this feature lets you try the full version of a paid title for free, and if you like it, you can easily purchase it and pick up where you left off, as your progress will be carried over. Game trials will be launched soon for select paid games on mobile, and will eventually be included in Google Play Games for PC as well.
Additionally, on select paid games, you can purchase the title once and get access to both mobile and PC versions of the game. “Buy once, play anywhere,” says Google. It’s already rolling out to the Reign series, OTTDs, and dungeon crawlers.
Google is also introducing community posts for “dozens of popular games” in English, with “more languages and games coming soon”. This gives you “a dedicated space to swap tips and tricks within Google Play.”
Starting today, you can use SideKick “with select paid games downloaded from Play.” According to Google, it is “a helpful in-game overlay that aggregates relevant gaming information and gives you AI-generated game tips to help you stay in the game”.
Finally, the company also says that it is expanding its catalog of games to include more paid titles. In the coming months, the “most anticipated indie games” are expected to arrive on Google Play: Moonlight Peaks, Sledding Game, and Low Budget Repair. These will of course work on both mobile and PC, with synced progress.
