Google Pixel 9a’s main camera comes from a much more expensive device | Infinium-tech
Google’s Pixel 9a is expected to arrive in March, and we’ve already seen it in some interesting leaked renders, which highlight its lack of a camera bar/visor.
Now a new rumor tells us that the Pixel 9a will ditch the 64 MP main camera of its predecessors, and instead borrow the 48 MP unit used in Google’s most expensive smartphone, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
The Pro Fold is a foldable device and is not made by a Chinese manufacturer, so you shouldn’t expect top-level quality. But still, it should be a better snapper than the earlier Pixel line.
While the main camera will change, the ultrawide will reportedly remain the same as that used in the Pixel 8a with a 13 MP resolution. The selfie snapper is also unchanged.
The Pixel 9a will get the “Add Me” feature that debuted in August with the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. It lets you AI-ify a photo so you can add your friends and family to the photo without needing the help of a stranger to take the photo.
