Gemini in Google Maps expands to cover walking and cycling directions | Infinium-tech
In November, Google brought Gemini to Google Maps, and the chatbot was available for use during driving navigation. Now, it’s also available for walking and cycling directions.
According to Google, you can use it as your personal walking tour guide. Just ask her anything you want – like what neighborhood you’re in, what top-rated restaurants are nearby, that kind of thing.
Gemini will recommend options based on “fresh, comprehensive information about the real world on the map” along your route. And if you’re cycling, Gemini’s hands-free assistance is even more valuable. It can tell you what your ETA is, when your next meeting is and can even send people messages for you.
This functionality is now rolling out worldwide on iOS and Android “wherever Gemini is available.” However, like all Google rollouts, it may take some time to reach everyone.
