The Qi 2.2 brings support for 50W speed, with increased magnetic alignment and better efficiency. New Apple Magsafe Qi 2.2 Charger Certification suggests that they support 45W speed (15V × 3A) when a compatible USB is connected to PD charger. Does this mean that the iPhone 17 series will increase its wireless charging speed? Perhaps.
The iPhone 16 series supports the 25W wireless charging speed, so a collision up to 45W will be a solid upgrade. This may also mean that wired charging will also be upgraded, as it is currently capted on 25W.
