Huawei Mate 70 series launches with a mysterious new chipset – Kirin 9020. Huawei hasn’t revealed much about it, so people had to do their own research.
blogger Yang Changshun Repairman Opened up the Huawei Mate 70 RS Ultimate and desoldered the chipset. The carrier board is larger and thicker than previous Kirin 9000 chips, but that doesn’t reveal much about the silicon inside.

From what we know so far, the Kirin 9020 has an 8-core, 12-thread CPU with one 2.5GHz core, three 2.15GHz cores, and four 1.6GHz cores (the last four are single-threaded). The GPU is a Malone 920 running at 840MHz.
Moving away from the chipset, the Mate 70 series apparently uses a material called titanium basalt to improve the phone’s drop resistance.
