YouTube starts rolling out Premium Lite plan in India | Infinium-tech
YouTube has started rolling its premium light plan in India. It should allow users to reach the material with low advertisements and features at a lower starting price than the standard premium scheme.
There are three differences in the premium light scheme compared to the standard premium scheme. First, unlike the premium, premium lights get rid of advertisements from most places but not everywhere. The company says that most of the video will be advertising free except for music videos and shorts like shorts. Advertisements may also appear when you search or browse through the app.
Here the language of the company is desire and desire, which has a lot of ‘most’ and ‘May’, which will not get advertisements for any particular type of content, provides no real clarity. This is done intentionally, so the company can accommodate the frequency of advertisements that appear here as it is pleased with time without breaking any promise.
The second difference from the premium is that the premium light does not include YouTube music streaming service as part of the plan. Finally, the premium light also does not support downloading videos for offline playback, as well as background playback.
The price of the premium light scheme is priced at INR 89/month in India, while compared to 149/month for the premium scheme.
