Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G review | Infinium-tech
Introduction
Xiaomi recently introduced the Redmi Note 14 Pro duo in India and now the Redmi Note 14 family is expanding to global markets as well. However, this extension has caused quite a bit of confusion since Xiaomi decided to use similar names for slightly different devices. Thankfully, the Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G, which we have for review today, seems to be available in only one variant and only in global markets. At least that’s it for now.
As its name suggests, the Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G aims to deliver a “Pro” Redmi experience on a budget by cutting down on some aspects. Especially 5G connectivity and chipset. The MediaTek Helio G100 bears a modest resemblance to the popular Helio G99, but it still offers plenty of modern connectivity and additional options. Don’t expect chart-topping performance from it, but it should be quite efficient. Also, Xiaomi is using advanced ISP here by including a high-resolution 200MP main camera.

Apart from that, the Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G looks pretty solid in terms of hardware. Its display isn’t at the level of the Pro 5G model, but it’s still quite impressive with its 120Hz refresh rate and OLED technology. Xiaomi has a good track record of delivering in the display department. The phone also has a stereo speaker system, a microSD memory expansion slot, an IR blaster, and NFC in some markets.
It is well built with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 front glass and an IP64 ingress protection rating. The onboard battery is a massive 5,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging.
unbox
The Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G comes in a plain white, two-piece cardboard box. It is quite thick and provides a lot of protection. There appears to be no plastic anywhere, which is quite eco-friendly.
Retail packages will vary depending on region. Our review unit came with a 45W Xiaomi HyperCharge charger, but we noticed that most EU regions don’t get one in the box.
The charger comes with a USB Type-A port, which isn’t ideal, especially considering that the charger appears to use an extra pin. This effectively makes the included USB Type-A to Type-C cable proprietary. You should take care of this along with the charger.
Additionally, there is also a nice thick, soft, black TPU case in the box.
