Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 is here: thinner and lighter body, SD 8 Gen 3 and 5x periscope camera | Infinium-tech

Foldables are growing rapidly in China – offering more powerful chipsets, cameras and bigger batteries while being smaller in size. Xiaomi’s new Mix Fold 4 is impossibly thin and light and competes directly with the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 and Honor Magic V3, while featuring a larger main display, four rear cameras including a 5x periscope lens.

Weighing just 226 grams, the Mix Fold 4 weighs the same as Honor’s Magic V3 and is almost as thin – 4.59mm when unfolded and 9.47mm when unfolded. Xiaomi has slimmed down the sides in the aluminium frame with a curved frame design.

The internal structure of the Mix Fold 4 features T800H high-strength carbon fibre that is significantly lighter and offers a 300% improvement in impact resistance compared to the Mix Fold 3.

It is also the first Xiaomi foldable with an IPX8 rating, making it water resistant up to 1.5 metres for up to 30 minutes.

It features a 6.56-inch LTPO OLED cover display with FHD+ resolution, 1-120 Hz adaptive refresh rate, and 21:9 aspect ratio.

The star of the show is the 7.98-inch main panel that is made of Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) and also features FHD+ resolution and an adaptive 1-120 Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi claims that both displays can offer a peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits and they each have a 20MP front-facing camera.

Like its recent flagship foldable rivals, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

Xiaomi has left no stone unturned in the camera department, where the Mix Fold 4 features a Leica quad camera setup with Summilux lenses.

The main shooter has a 50MP main sensor with f/1.7 aperture and 23mm equivalent with OIS. You also get a 50MP 2x portrait sensor (47mm) and a 10MP periscope with 5x optical zoom and 115mm equivalent lens. The fourth shooter on the back is a 12MP ultrawide lens with 15mm equivalent.

The Mix Fold 4 runs Xiaomi HyperOS based on Android 14 and is powered by a 5,100mAh Xiaomi Surge battery with 67W wired and 50W wireless charging.
