WhatsApp will let you tell group members what your role is | Infinium-tech
WhatsApp is working on a new feature for group chat. It has been seen in the latest WhatsApp beta build for Android, which has become available to those in the beta test group today.
This lets you assign a label for yourself in each group that you are a part, as shown by the screenshot below. The label you have assigned yourself will be seen by all the current and future members of a group, but elsewhere – each such label is specific to a group. Once you set a label for yourself in a group, it will remain until you change it, even if you reset or restore WhatsApp.
As you can see, WhatsApp suggests things like “Jordan’s parents”, “coach”, “chairperson”, such a thing, but your imagination is the only real limit here. Of course, you will expect that for other people, at a glance, at a glance, is useful for what your role is. This is the complete point of this facility.
With such characteristics present in WhatsApp Betas, it is not clear when it will roll to the general public. It may take a few weeks, or several months – but it is in the way.
