vivo led India’s smartphone market in 2025 with double-digit shipment growth | Infinium-tech
According to Omdia, Vivo is set to lead India’s smartphone market in 2025, capturing 21% of the pie with 32.1 million shipments. It was followed by Samsung with 15% and 23 million shipments, Oppo and Xiaomi with 13% each (20 million and 19.7 million shipments respectively), and Apple with 10% of the 15.1 million unit shipments.

Compared to 2024, Vivo grew by 19% in 2025, Oppo grew by 10%, Apple grew by a whopping 28%, while Samsung declined by 11% and Xiaomi shipments fell by 26%. Total smartphone sales in India in 2025 were at 154.2 million units, down 1% compared to 2024.
In the fourth quarter of 2025, Vivo shipped 7.9 million smartphones with a 23% market share, Samsung shipped 4.9 million smartphones with a 14% share, Oppo shipped 4.6 million units for a 13% market share, Xiaomi shipped 4.2 million devices achieving a 12% share, and Apple shipped 3.9 million units resulting in an 11% share. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2024, Vivo’s shipments increased by 16%, Oppo’s increased by 10%, while Samsung’s shipments declined by 11%, Xiaomi’s declined by 26% and Apple’s declined by 1%.

Vivo’s sales heroes in Q4 2025 in India were the Y31 5G, Y19s 5G, T4x 5G and V60e, while Oppo’s A-series sold massively and a growing share of its K-series volumes shifted to mainline retail. Xiaomi’s best sellers were Redmi 14C 5G and Poco C75.
Omdia analysts expect Indian smartphone market shipments to decline by mid-single digits (about 5%) in 2026 due to higher prices and “incremental value delaying upgrades.”
