Following successful trial production, TSMC is set to begin mass production of 2nm chips at its facility in Kaohsiung, Taiwan next year. Apple and Nvidia are expected to be among the first companies to buy chips built on TSMC’s N2 node.
Previous reports suggest that the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro models will feature a 2nm chip developed on TSMC’s process, but the latest news claims that we will see the 2nm chip debut on the iPhone 18 Pro in 2026.
According to rumors, chips based on TSMC’s 2nm process are likely to cost twice as much as its 4 and 5nm chips, with the price per wafer rumored to be $30,000.
