The rugged Sonim XP Pro Thermal is equipped with a FLIR Lepton 3.5 thermal camera | Infinium-tech
Sonim has been creating rugged phones for more than a decade and its latest composition is also its first handset with an integrated thermal camera. It is aimed at professionals, people who work in home maintenance, inspection, motor vehicle repair and more.
Sonim XP Pro Thermal makes on XP Pro a few months ago. It is powered by the same Snapdragon 7 General 3, which is combined with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage once again, again (with microSD extension slot). The model also has a 6.58 ”FHD+ display protected with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and 5,000mAh batteries. Note that it is launched only with Android 14.
There is a big upgrade Flir Lepton 3.5 thermal imaging camera here. It works with the Sonim Iris app, which makes on Myflir Pro and is fully compatible with the FLIR thermal studio. A Sonim Iris is SDK that allows custom apps to take advantage of the FLIR camera.
Using the thermal camera, a professional can check for electrical issues (such as overloaded circuit or faulty transformer), assessing the insulation of the house, can seek leaks behind the walls and much more. Sonim suggests that XP Pro Thermal can be used in the field of first responses with electrical maintenance, HVAC and plumbing, inspection and safety, energy and utilities, motor vehicles, construction and home improvement, agriculture, pests and rodents control.
Sonim XP Pro is a phone for thermal professionals
The phone has been designed as to what the company says to Sonim rugged performance standards and tested with water, dust, shocks and extreme temperatures (MIL-STD-810H, IP68 and IPX9K tests are currently being tested by a third-party lab).
Pre-orders for Sonim XP Pro Thermal will start soon, but you will share yourself better than that-this year (April-June) will launch in Europe and South Africa in this year (April-June), followed by more areas later. There is no word on pricing yet.
