TCL unveils Tab A1 Plus (and NxtPaper) as NxtPaper 70 Pro makes it to Europe | Infinium-tech
TCL kicked off MWC 2026 with a ton of product launches and now we’re ready to bring you some hands-on coverage of its latest Android tablets. The Tab A1 Plus brings a 12.2-inch IPS LCD with 1,600 x 2,400 px resolution, 3:2 aspect ratio, and 120Hz refresh rate. It’s also available in a version with TCL’s NxtPaper technology, which gets the signature matte display coating that we got to test.

The bezels seem thinner than previous TCL tablets, and the signature NxtPaper keys now glow and allow you to quickly switch between three display modes.

Regular mode has rich and vibrant colors for regular use. Color Paper reduces saturation for a paper-like color reading experience, while Ink Paper mode goes to grayscale for an e-ink-like experience. The Tab A1 Plus also supports the T‑Pen Pro stylus, which supports up to 8,192 pressure levels.
The device sports a nice metal unibody chassis with a raised circular camera housing an 8 MP shooter and an LED flash. There’s also a second 5MP front-facing camera on the front, and the entire device is IP54 dust-proof and water-resistant. The tablet feels lighter than the 542 grams listed on its spec sheet.

It is powered by a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset along with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which is expandable via an onboard microSDXC slot. You also get an 8,000mAh battery with 20W charging support.
On the software front, the Tab A1 Plus boots Android 16 with TCL’s custom interface on top. It has an almost stock feel with all your familiar Google apps pre-installed and ready to use. Unfortunately, TCL did not share pricing and availability details for the Tab A1 Plus.
Apart from the new Tab A1 series tablets, TCL also officially introduced its NxtPaper 70 Pro smartphone in Europe. Its 256GB trim will be sold for €299, while the 512GB version will be sold for €359.

We managed to spend some hands-on time with the device shortly after its announcement at CES in January.
