T-Mobile recalls Revvl 7 Pro from all retailers | Infinium-tech

T-Mobile’s line of own-brand Android smartphones just added the Revel 7 and Revel 7 Pro a few weeks ago. And while the Revel 7 is still safely available for sale at TMO retail outlets and third-party partners, the same cannot be said about the Revel 7 Pro.

The device has now been recalled by T-Mobile from all of its stores and retail partners. It is no longer on sale. This is an unprecedented move, especially since the carrier has not given a reason for the recall.

Instead, we’ll just have to rely on the leaked memo you can see above, through which the magenta carrier is informing its partners that they should immediately return all Revel 7 Pro units they still have, including demos.

The move is apparently taken to “maintain our high-quality standards,” T-Mobile said without providing any details. The carrier is “actively recovering current units” in its partners’ inventory. However, this doesn’t mean the phone has been discontinued. TMO says it is “working to make more Revel 7 Pro inventory available soon to allow sales to resume quickly.”

The instructions say to mark the device as “customer dissatisfied” in the system, but this is probably done because the system doesn’t present a more relevant option.

While it’s not clear why this is happening, some employees have reported that the Revel 7 Pro’s phone app is constantly crashing on several units, and this could certainly be a reason for such a recall. After all, if you can’t make calls, the phone loses one of its most important features.

Whatever the case may be, T-Mobile should also officially notify those who have already purchased the Revel 7 Pro – and if the flaw found in these units can’t be fixed via a software update, it should also issue an official recall to customers.
