Spotify will let you easily turn off video content across all devices | Infinium-tech
Spotify is introducing new video controls, which basically let you turn off video content in the app entirely. This will start rolling out globally later this month and will apply to all accounts, including free accounts.
You’ll be able to go to Settings > Content & Display where you’ll find canvas looping visuals, as well as options to turn off video for music or podcasts. Once you choose a new preference, it will be remembered across mobile, desktop, web, TV – wherever you use Spotify.

However, if you’re on the free plan you’ll still get video ads, and canvas-like views on some audio ads. Spotify says this makes it easier to turn off video content entirely because people like options, but the truth is that many people felt the video push was unnecessary. Nonetheless, an easier way to get rid of video content in Spotify is now coming.
