Spotify had a record quarter, now has 678 million users | Infinium-tech
Spotify has added five million premium users to the first quarter of this year (between January and March), the company has just disclosed. This is an increase of 12% compared to Q1 2024, and brings up to 268 million to the total payment customers.
Streaming service has also reported a record quarterly operating income of € 509 million (about $ 528 million). The revenue was € 4.2 billion or about 4.8 billion dollars. Spotify now claims that he has 678 million monthly active users, and 423 million advertising monthly active users, although mathematics is not quite joint-423 million users are advertising and 268 million are paid, so a total of 691 million, not 678 million.
Then, the difference is small, so perhaps we are missing something here. Anyway, the controversy about how much (or rather less) it pays to the artists, Spotify has turned into a mature profit-making business, and it is constantly increasing in income as well as both users. It is still the leading music streaming service worldwide, by some difference, finally.
