Sony teases audio-related launch event for next week | Infinium-tech
Sony is hosting an audio-related product launch event on January 21, and it looks like we’ll be getting the brand’s next-generation LinkBuds earbuds, and not the long-awaited WF-1000XM6 flagship. The event is scheduled to begin at 4PM UTC (8AM PST) and will be livestreamed on YouTube.
While the teaser does a good job of hiding the design of the product, we can see in the thumbnail that the earbuds are placed around the model’s ears.
Additionally, the “Discover a new form of listening” tagline for the event implies that the earbuds will have a less common design than the in-ear format.
As discovered by dlabsSony will likely unveil its LinkBuds Clip (WF-LC900), which feature an open ear design with the buds fitting around the earlobe. A listing from an Indonesian retailer has revealed the design and key features of the LinkBuds Clip, which are expected to feature adaptive volume controls, 360 Reality Audio support, and background music effects found on previous LinkBuds models.

The specs also suggest dual microphones, AI noise reduction for calls, and a bone conduction sensor. These will feature 10-band EQ customization inside the Sony app, simultaneous connection to two devices, and an IPX4 splash-proof design.

The leak suggests 9 hours of playback from the earbuds and an additional 28 hours from the case, totaling 37 hours of playback.
The LinkBuds Clip will be available in four colors, including black, beige, sage, and lavender. They are expected to retail for $230/€200.
PS For those wondering when we’ll see the flagship WF-1000XM6, rumors suggest it will be launched at a later date in February.
