Samsung’s Ballie companion robot is coming this summer with Google’s Gemini AI built-in | Infinium-tech
Samsung initially introduced Bailey “Saathi Robot” in early 2020, and it is still not a real product you can buy. However, in the end, this heat will change, when Balli will be available in the US and Korea.
Beyond the release, we have already seen a teaser video earlier this month, and today Samsung is announcing that Bailey will come with Google’s Mithun AI Built-in. Strange, there is no mention of Bixby in the press release, so perhaps Samsung’s in-house assistant was thrown out.
Yongje Kim, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business in Samsung Electronics, said:
Through this partnership, Samsung and Google Cloud are re -defined the role of AI in the house. By combining Gemini’s powerful multimodal logic with Samsung’s AI abilities in the ball, we are taking advantage of the power of open cooperation to unlock a new era of individual AI partner – a one estimates their needs and interacts more dynamic and meaningful than before.
Thomas Kurien, CEO, Google Cloud, said:
With Gemini on Google Cloud, Samsung is displaying how to deploy generative AI on a scale, integrate it directly into the hearts of its popular products. This extended partnership with Samsung underlines our commitment to give reliable, enterprise-grade AI that increases the permanent value for our customers and their customers.
Belly will use Gemini’s multimodal abilities as well as ownership to use Samsung language models to understand inputs such as audio and voice, its camera visual data from its camera and sensor data from its environment. Thus it will be able to customize its behavior and reactions in real time. This will also help you manage your home, your health and your goodness.
Unfortunately, pricing is still a mystery, but we certainly do not expect the belly to become cheaper.
