Samsung Wallet is launching in more European markets this Friday | Infinium-tech
The Samsung wallet was already available in some parts of Europe, but not everyone has access to the old continent. Starting from Friday, people from three more countries will join the “in” crowd as Samsung announced that Batua was coming to Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg (aka Benelax).
If you have not heard about the Samsung wallet before, it is a digital storage space for things such as ID card, membership card, boarding pass and even car keys. For example, the boarding pass for KLM and Air France can be stored in the wallet, as well as flying blue miles from the affiliated airlines.
There are ways to make virtual keys in select cars that you can use from your phone – or to lend to your friends and family to use. Some models from BMW, Mini, Volvo, Polstar, AudiKia and Hyundai are supported (see below for a more detailed list).
Note that Samsung Wallet will begin on 7 February (this Friday) in Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg. It is no coincidence that it is also the launch date of the new Galaxy S25 series – this feature requires a UI 7, which is currently available only for S25 phones. The S24 and the old phone will be updated in version 7, but it will take time.
Launched in Benelax seems to be the beginning of a broad rollout. What Paul Karkhof, Samsung Electronics Manager Samsung Wallet in Samsung Electronics Benelux, said: “Because we strongly believe in open ecosystems, it is our ambition to continue the expansion of Samsung wallet with new local partners and developers. Soon more news about that! ,
By the way, with this update, features such as Samsung pass (which stores your password) will be transferred under the wallet app.
The Samsung wallet has very important digital items and Samsung has tasked its Knox system with safety – it includes fingerprint scanning and encryption for sensitive data. Particularly sensitive documents are stored separately from the rest of your files in a separate environment.
Below is a list of compatible cars with the digital car key facility of Samsung Wallet. For the phone, you need a Galaxy S20 or new (including FE model), Z Flip 5G or Newer, Z Fold2 or Newer. The Galaxy Note 20 series is also on the list.
