Samsung tipped to outsource Exynos production to TSMC | Infinium-tech
Samsung’s struggles with Exynos may cause the company to outsource chip production. According to a leakster, the Korean company is considering TSMC as an external manufacturing partner, and later, this rumor was supported by a former Qualcomm employee who is currently an industry analyst.
If this turns out to be true, this rumor is likely to be in relation to future Exynos products. Despite reports of low initial yields, the Exynos 2500 is still being built.
For example, TSMC also makes competing chips like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite.
We have to point out that even if the switch to TSMC, Samsung will continue to design the architecture of Exynos chips. The main company handles everything from R&D to distribution, with only the manufacturing segment being outsourced to a third party, in this case – TSMC.
