Samsung starts buying Chinese display panels for its mid-range smartphones | Infinium-tech
According to a new report out of Korea, Samsung is diversifying its display supply chain. This creates a strange situation where Samsung (Electronics) will stop buying screens from Samsung (Displays) for some mid-range devices, instead opting to buy from TCL-owned CSOT.
CSOT’s panels are at least 20% cheaper than Samsung’s, and it is speculated that the move is aimed at mitigating rising memory costs by undercutting the costs of other devices in the mid-range. Samsung has reportedly ordered 15 million display panels from CSOT, which will be used in the upcoming Galaxy A57 as well as some unnamed upcoming FE handsets that are scheduled to begin production in April (Galaxy S26 FE?).

As you might expect, Samsung Display was not very happy with this decision made by Samsung Electronics, and even appealed to higher-ups in the group to reverse it, but without success.
