Samsung shows off the AI-powered note-taking and translation features of Galaxy phones | Infinium-tech

Samsung has been at the forefront of AI applications on mobile with the launch of Galaxy AI. Now almost every smartphone company is announcing its own AI suites, but owners of recent Galaxy S and Z devices can already put them to work.

The Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 are well-suited to AI tasks, especially the Fold with S Pen support.

The Sketch to Image tool lets you create a rough sketch (including tracing over an existing image), choose a style, and produce full-color artwork in just a few seconds.

Circle to Search (powered by Google) is available on all Galaxy AI devices. You can use it for anything from searching for travel destinations you’ve seen in photos to helping you with your math homework.

The large display and S Pen support make the Galaxy Z Fold6 a great note-taking tool, but you can let the AI do the work while you focus on the presentation or discussion. The Notes app has a Note Assist feature that will record and transcribe audio (separating the discussion from the speaker) and also create a summary of what was said.

Whether you like them or not, PDFs are the standard way to send and receive digital documents. What if you receive a document in a foreign language? Well, the Notes app can help you with that – the PDF Overlay Translation feature will translate the entire document, so you don’t have to copy and paste pieces of text into a separate translation app.

A few days ago, Samsung released One UI 6.1.1 for the Galaxy S23 series, Z Flip5 and Z Fold5, bringing new Galaxy AI features to the 2023 flagships. The 2022 flagships will also get this feature, even mid-rangers like the Galaxy A55 and A35 will get AI with the v6.1.1 update. Samsung aims to have Galaxy AI running on 200 million devices by the end of this year.
