Samsung Health app update lets you view your medical records, track your medications and food | Infinium-tech
The latest update to the Samsung Health app is huge – it turns it into a unified platform that allows users to access their health records, manage medications, and track their daily food intake.
The app now allows users to access their medical records from clinics, hospitals and major health networks. Samsung has partnered with B.Well Connected Health, which works with major electronic medical record (EMR) systems in the US (Cerner Health, Epic Systems, Veradime).
You can view your lab results and important information in the Samsung Health app. The Health Records feature provides alerts and insights and can recommend medical tests based on your complete health history. This includes vaccinations, prescriptions, previous hospital visits and relevant test results.
This next feature was launched in the US just last year – medication tracking. You can add medicines to your list by scanning the pill bottle with your phone’s camera. The app will show the dosage schedule, missed doses, and other information on the different medications you take (description, side effects, warnings, drug interactions, etc.). Drug tracking is now expanding to South Korea and India.
Samsung Health can also scan the barcode of your food to speed up the process of logging your food. It helps you track calories and also allows you to view nutrition facts (provided by FatSecret). The feature is launching first in the US and select European countries (France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland) and will expand to more markets later.
