Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 to have a smaller display crease | Infinium-tech
According to a report by dealsiteSamsung will include the new display technology in its upcoming Galaxy Z Fold8 foldable this summer. This would allow visible creases to be reduced by about 20%, although we’re not sure how one could reliably measure crease visibility.

The company will reportedly use UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) not only for the top layer of the display, but also for the bottom edge. Additionally, Samsung will be adding a laser-drilled metal support plate to strengthen the foldable structure, which will help smooth out the creases even more. This approach differs from the rumored iPhone Fold which has been tipped to use a glass substrate instead, but still derives its foldable screen from Samsung.
Interestingly, Samsung has already showcased a crease-less foldable display during CES 2026, but we can’t say for sure whether the same display will be used for the Z Fold8.
