Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge hands-on | Infinium-tech
At the end of its Unpacked event today, Samsung teased the upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge, also known as the Galaxy S25 Slim in rumors to date.
We were at Samsung’s event in San Jose, California, and we were lucky enough to get a close-up with the Galaxy S25 Edge. So, ladies and gentlemen, feast your eyes on this one! And keep in mind that there is no official information about its specs yet.
Let’s start by stating the obvious. It is very thin. Samsung hasn’t officially shared any numbers, but it’s clear that thinness will be its main selling point.
From the front, it looks basically the same as the Galaxy S25+, you’ll be hard-pressed to notice any differences. But of course, it’s in all those aspects where the Edge shines.
The back is also different, featuring an oval camera island that houses just two shooters and a circular LED flash array.
We assume Samsung’s going with only two cameras has something to do with keeping the device thin, as Apple’s rumored iPhone 17 Air will reportedly only have one rear camera and will be even thinner than the Galaxy S25 Edge.
Now let’s talk about that name. Sure, it looks better to us than the Galaxy S25 Slim, but the “edge” with Samsung devices used to be all about screens curved at the edges. Remember those days? The Galaxy S25 Edge, on the other hand, has a flat screen. It’s the opposite of what Edge used to be, so it’s probably a case of “this sounds cool, let’s reuse it” and not much thought has been put into the naming other than that.
We’ll definitely bring you more details on the Galaxy S25 Edge once it becomes available, so stay tuned. And while you wait, why not check out our hands-on reviews of the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra? It’s fresh out of the oven. We also have a photo shootout comparing the Galaxy S25 Ultra to its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
