Report: foldable iPhone is a go for next year after Samsung Display solves the crease issue | Infinium-tech
Apple is the largest smartphone manufacturer to release a foldable device. The size of the crease was reportedly a major issue for leadership in cupertino and stopped the project as Apple’s display suppliers worked on ways to shrink it.
Samsung display and Samsung display alone have solved this issue, report Business KoreaAnd the project may proceed with a target launch in the second half of 2026. Typically, Apple uses a mixture of Samsung, LG and BOE for its products, so a single supplier is uncommon – but it will be a big win for the Samsung display, which has seen its market share slip in recent years.
Anyway, the foldable iPhone is called 5.5 “OLED cover display and 7.8” main display. This will be a book-style foldable and will compete directly against Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8.
