Realme to unveil 300W wired charging technology soon | Infinium-tech
The wired charging wars may have died down recently, but they’re not completely over. According to a new rumor from China, Realme is preparing to introduce its own 300W wired charging solution for smartphones.
We say “its own” because this wouldn’t be the first 300W system to be showcased by a Chinese device maker – in fact, Redmi already announced its take on the matter back in February 2023.
When it arrived, it was claimed to charge a 4,100mAh battery from zero to full in less than five minutes. It’s been over a year since that unveiling and yet no Redmi phone has actually managed to use this 300W charging technology.
We wouldn’t be surprised if Realme’s announcement will also be of the “technology showcase” variety, without having used it on an actual device for some time. Then again, Realme has so far gotten the closest to 300W with its 240W wired charging, recently featured on the GT5 and GT Neo 5 handsets.
According to the same source, Realme’s upcoming GT7 Pro will have an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance, as well as an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
