One of Samsung’s latest mid-rangers supports seamless updates, another one doesn’t | Infinium-tech
Samsung has slowed down incredibly to adopt a spontaneous update for its Android smartphone which is still not very clear. The company finally made inroads with the Galaxy S25 series along with the Galaxy A55. Therefore, naturally, we assumed that all its devices would be supported for convenience after the launch.
I wish no. Recently released Galaxy A26 and Galaxy A36 have just received their first update in Europe, and, as said, we have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that A36 actually supports the easy update.
The bad news is that A26 does not. It is enough to say, it is not meaningful, but it is what it is. The A56 has not yet received its first update, but we are definitely expecting that it supports the uninterrupted update, as its predecessor.
Seamless updates use two identical system division. When you get an update, it is installed on the division that is not currently being used by the system – thus when you are using the phone, the installation can be fully performed, there is no need to install to be on the reboot. Finally you still have to reboot the phone, but this is a very, very fast case because it requires all the switch between the partition.
Since this two partitions need to be present from day one, there is a zero chance that the Galaxy A26 will ever support the seamless update, unfortunately. And so Samsung continues to be incredibly slowing to roll it out – but then it is normally slowed with rollouts, so it is not really surprising.
