Next-gen Vision Pro to feature AI spatial computing | Infinium-tech
Ming-Chi Kuo, a highly respected Apple analyst, says that Apple plans to begin mass production of its next-generation Vision Pro in the second half of 2025. Its main selling point will be AI spatial computing enabled by the Apple M5 chip.
Apple’s current Vision Pro devices are powered by the M2 chip, so the M5 will significantly improve performance. This, in turn, will enable better AI capabilities, which are critical for spatial computing.
Apple wants to make the human-machine interface more intuitive and efficient by combining artificial intelligence, eye tracking and gesture control. And the M5’s superior ability to handle AI-related tasks is key to doing so.
Ming-Chi Kuo believes that Apple will be able to keep the price relatively the same because it will use largely the same hardware and only upgrade the chip. However, a more lightweight design and larger battery are still in the plans.
If Apple succeeds in offering an attractive user scenario, the next-generation Vision Pro could bring it into the mainstream. For example, the planned AI capabilities will be better than those offered by standard smartphones, but will they be enough?
