Netflix raises prices yet again after Squid Game 2 success | Infinium-tech
Netflix posted its results for the October to December 2024 quarter, marking a major milestone for the company. The streaming service reached 301 million paid subscriptions, an increase of 16% or up to 18.91 million new members – the largest increase since the company began operations globally.
Sadly, it was also announced that Netflix would be raising monthly prices in the United States again – the third increase in three years. In a note to shareholders, it was revealed that the Standard plan with ads will be $7.99, with the Standard without ads increasing from $15.49 to $17.99, while Premium is set at $24.99, starting this month.
Other countries that will see prices rise are Canada, Portugal and Argentina.

The company revealed that Q4 outperformed its high expectations. The popular drama Squid Game 2 is on its way to becoming the most watched original series season, Carry-On is on the list of top 10 movies of all time, the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight was the most televised sports event, and Christmas Day The games Chiefs vs. Steelers and Ravens vs. Texans were the most streamed NFL games in history.
On a broader scale, Netflix reported a 16% increase in Q4 ’24 revenue and its net income nearly doubled compared to Q4 ’23. Revenue, operating profit and earnings are also forecast to increase over the next three months.
