Meizu teases the Lucky 08, a new $280 “flagship AI phone” | Infinium-tech
For a company that has reportedly “moved on” from the smartphone business, Meizu is certainly launching a lot of smartphones these days. Earlier today we told you about the new Note 21 series, which is also heading international, and the company has also teased another new device, which appears to be part of the new series.
The company has advertised the Meizu Lucky 08 smartphone to be launched on September 25 as a “flagship AI phone.” It will cost CNY 2,000, which is currently the equivalent of about $280 or €255 – so it can’t possibly be a true flagship at this price.
However, it does look attractive, as you can see in the teaser video above. It appears to have two cameras on the back, housed in a very distinctive round camera island.
Meizu has launched a CNY 1 reservation service. If you pay this nominal amount, you secure your place in the purchase queue when the phone arrives, and you also get the chance to drive the Meizu x. Lynk & Co Z10 E-sports customized edition EV, as well as special subsidy for trade-in.
No other details about Lucky 08 are known at the moment, but keep in mind that 8 is the luckiest number in Chinese culture, so the name is quite apt.
