MediaTek’s new Dimensity 6400 brings a small upgrade over the 6300 from last year | Infinium-tech
The chipset genealogy is a strange hobby, but sometimes new chipset we need to dig something. Keeping this in mind, the new demand from MediaTek 6400 chipset comes as a mild refresh at a distance of 6300 from last year, which is a small upgrade from 2023 to 6100+. But the roots of this chip move even further.
The dimension 6400 is placed on the 6NM TSMC process and has an Octa-Core CPU: 2x Cortex-A76 at 2.5GHz and 6x A55 at 2.0GHz. In addition, one hand Mali-G57 is MC2 GPU.
The chipset is designed for LPDDR4X RAM (up to 2,133MHz) and UFS 2.2 storage. It supports the display with 120Hz refresh rate and 1080p+ resolution up to 10-bit colors. ISP supports cameras up to 108MP (there is no word on video resolution). The 5G release 16 modem has a peak downlink speed of 3.3GBPS and also supports Wi-Fi 5 (AC) and Bluetooth 5.2.

In short, this dimension is 6300, but with 0.1GHz overclock on the A76 core and possibly on GPU, but MediaTek did not go into such nuances. As we have indicated above, this is a fairly old design-2 x A76 + 6x A55 and Mali-G57 MC2 Combo can be found on the distance 810 distance from 2021. It was also a 6Nm chip, although it is less than 6400- it can handle only 64MP cameras, its 5G modem tops 2.77GBPS and had old Bluetooth 5.1. Nevertheless, it is very similar hardware since four years ago.
While it is an old soul, Demispis 6400 will give power to new designs – for example, Realum P3 x 5G, which will be unveiled tomorrow.
