MediaTek unveils Helio G200 with slightly faster GPU and better HDR for videos | Infinium-tech
The MediaTek is keeping its 4G series alive, but the New Helio G200 is not a huge upgrade on the Helio G100, despite what the numbers suggest. The new chip brings high GPU clock speed, better HDR video quality and a new technology that improves using social networking apps in areas with spotted reception.
From the heart, it is still mostly the same 6Nm chipset which was Helio G99. G100 added 200MP camera support, improves it with 12-bit DCG support for better HDR in G200 video.
The CPU has a 2x cortex-A76 core (2.2GHz) and 6x A55 (2.0GHz) as before. However, GPU, a Mali-G57 MC2, is now seen from 1.0GHz to 1.1GHz. There is no huge benefit, but given the expected as much as it can be expected, it still uses the old TSMC N6 node.
Finally, 4G DC SAR technology “enhances the experience of the popular social and messaging app in areas with remote areas and weak cellular signals”. This does this by reducing the delay by 30% (you think it will be a boon for more games than Facebook) and by improving the reception range.
Helio G200 supports 1080p+ display with 120Hz refresh rate. It can be paired up to 4,266Mbps and UFS 2.2 storage with LPDDR4X RAM. It has a built -in cat. 13 DL 4G LTE modem, Wi-Fi 5 (AC) and Bluetooth 5.2 support. Check the table below for comparison with G99 and G100.
