MediaTek is unveiling two new chipsets on January 15, Dimensity 8500 is one of them | Infinium-tech
MediaTek is holding a launch event in China on January 15 and is expected to unveil two new chipsets at that occasion. Rumor has it that we will finally see the much-awaited Dimensity 8500 at this event, which is the successor to the 8450 and 8400, both upper-midrange chipsets. The Honor Power2, which was unveiled today, uses the Dimensity 8500 so the official announcement of the chip is a formality at this point.

The second SoC to be unveiled next week is more of a mystery, with rumors in China talking about a new 9-series chip, perhaps called the Dimensity 9500s. This is reportedly an all-new chipset, built on TSMC’s N3E 3nm process, featuring a CPU with one Cortex-X925 core clocked at up to 3.73GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores clocked at up to 3.3GHz, and four Cortex-A720 cores clocked at up to 2.4GHz. This CPU will apparently be paired with a Mali G925MC12 GPU operating at a frequency of 1,612MHz.
