Kuo: Apple foldable delayed, again | Infinium-tech

The development of foldable phones has grown rapidly over the past five years and some manufacturers are even experimenting with larger form factors such as laptops, while others such as Apple have yet to enter the foldable market. There is no shortage of rumors claiming that Cupertino is developing at least two foldable devices including an iPad/MacBook hybrid and now reputable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo Claims that the Apple foldable is being delayed again, according to rumors.

According to Kuo, Apple has delayed the assembly schedule for its first foldable from early 2026 to late 2027 or even 2028. The device in question is expected to be a foldable MacBook, not an iPad as previously speculated, with Apple reportedly set on an 18.8-inch screen size.

Kuo: Apple foldable delayed again

The reason for the delay is “technical challenges” with the display and mechanical components. Apple has reportedly canceled its plans for a larger 20.25-inch device. Previous reports suggest that LG will be the sole supplier for the foldable panel, with initial estimates estimating it to cost $600-650 for the panel and $200-250 for the hinge. The final price of the device is expected to be around $3,500 due to these higher component prices.
