Insta360 Snap adds a magnetic touchscreen viewfinder to your phone | Infinium-tech
The Insta360’s latest accessory is a magnetically attached 3.5-inch touchscreen with two key features. It acts as a viewfinder for your rear camera and also mirrors your phone’s screen, allowing you to access all the apps and menus on your Android or iOS device.
The Insta360 Snap comes in two varieties – a standard version that costs $80/€86/£73 and a $90/€96/£83 that includes an adjustable LED light. Both connect via USB-C and draw power from your phone. Insta360 claims it reduces lag to 30ms, which is much better than competing Bluetooth options.
Insta360 is bundling a magnetic ring, which attaches with a snap and subsequently connects to your phone if it supports MagSafe or Qi2. In terms of compatibility, Insta360 says the Snap will work with the iPhone 15 or newer, as well as Android phones with USB-C and DisplayPort (DP) Alt Mode.
The touchscreen brings 480×800 px resolution and 60Hz refresh rate while outputting 550 nits peak brightness. The device is 7.3 mm thick and has a cover that protects the screen when not in use. The LED light version has 3 colors and 5 brightness levels.
