Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro in for review | Infinium-tech
The Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro is arguably the most interesting wearable from the Chinese manufacturer this year and we’re finally able to put it through its paces.
It’s quite large and sits impressively on the wrist – the Classic Edition’s 46mm titanium body is matched to a titanium strap with butterfly clasp.
The Watch GT series is the base among Huawei’s wearables – it is designed to match the Watch Number series in appearance, but with a lower price and better battery life at the expense of cellular connectivity.
It’s built around the 1.43″ AMOLED display that’s been a staple since the GT 3 series. It offers some new watch faces, and the bezel is now dual-painted in blue and red. It’s largely the same as the green version. Reminiscent of the GT4, but in new colors.
The major improvement brought by the GT5 Pro are the new sensors at the rear, which are linked with a smart tracker algorithm. The company calls it the TruSense System, and the technology combines data from sensors for respiratory rate, SpO2 (blood oxygen level), body temperature and heart rate to provide more accurate and comprehensive suggestions on your well-being.
Activities related to running and cycling have also been improved, as owners can now upload tracks to the map (instead of going into the void left or right of a line). It also has a feature that can create walking paths, and we will do our best to explore these new features.
Sadly, the Huawei Watch GT 5 series doesn’t support mental health-related features in Europe, and we won’t be able to test them. However, we will be examining all other aspects of it in detail, so stay tuned for our findings.
