Huawei Pura X hands-on – GSMArena.com news | Infinium-tech
Huawei is challenging general thinking when it comes to foldables. We already offer ooh and aid on triple-folding mate XT ultimat, now we closely look at what can happen in a new category of foldable.
Huawei Pura X falls somewhere between flip foldables and book-style foldables and reaches there with a 90 ° twist. When closed, X is close to a specific flip foldable size, which is not much larger than the choice of Pocket 2 or Galaxy Z Flip 6.
(Closed) | Huawei Temple X. | Huawei Pocket 2 | Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 |
---|---|---|---|
Width | 91.7 mm | 87.8 mm | 85.1 mm |
Height | 74.3 mm | 75.5 mm | 71.9 mm |
Thickness | 15.1 mm | 15.3 mm | 14.9 mm |
weight | 196 grams | 202 g | 187g |
Covering performance | 3.5 ” 980x980px |
1.15 ” 340x340px |
3.4 720x748px |
Well, it is slightly larger than the galaxy. However, it is still quite small that it does not seem to be very chronic despite a thickness of 15.1 mm. Such thickness is fine on a flip, not on a book foldable.
Now for the major advantage of Pura X – an internal performance has a beautiful standard 16:10 aspect ratio. Its 6.3 “diagonal is misleading – the Pura screen has a 13% more surface area than the 6.7” Galaxy Z Flip6 display and is more usable as Samsung used a detailed 22: 9 screen.
16:10 is great for videos, YouTube and most TV shows will play with just a little letterboxing, so you get a much larger video frame than your specific flip foldable. Portrait orientation is also great for 16:10 documents and web pages – tall and thin performance is not always best for lessons.
How did Huawei drag it? We mentioned with 90 ° twist. If you catch a closed Pura X with a camera array above the cover screen (this is a portrait orientation when it is closed), then the phone opens on the side like a book foldable.
But once you open it, you have to turn it on 90 ° because the UI intends to be used in portrait instead of landscape – even the homescreen landscape mode. Yes, you can use the phone in landscape while watching the video when using camera or gaming, but it is mostly a portrait device similar to a flip foldable. This is why it is “Pura” instead of “Met X”.
You can also keep the phone closed with cameras on the edge – it is a bit difficult to catch, but this camera makes UI easy to use. Huawei Pura X is a great selfie and Vlogging device.
Let’s quickly observe the above cameras. The main OIS has a 50MP module, a 40MP ultra-wide (13 mm) and 3.5x zoom (80 mm) with 8MP telephoto. If you need a camera when the phone is opened, the inside has a 10.7MP punch-hold module.
We have not disappointed with Pura X -Huawei with some camera samples, but we will save the image quality discussion for a more detailed article.

And see the bump of this camera – it is much smaller than most of the market phones. Keep in mind that the phone measures 7.2 mm thick when the phone is opened, so the camera module does not have much more room than a specific phone, despite the closure of Purma X despite being thicker.
We have to talk about the screen. Starting with the cover display, it is a 3.5 “square with 980 x 980px resolution. It is a 120Hz Ltpo panel with 10-bit colors, so it is a great quality display. And it is sufficient for simple tasks-Mandesh, Navigation, control and control media players, control and even collecting coal and even caims.
Using a 3.5 “cover display on Huawei Pura X
3.5 ”is very tight for modern software, however, so when you can do a lot, you would like to use the main performance for serious tasks. It is a 6.3″ 120Hz Ltpo panel with a 1,320 x 2,120px resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio (well, 10:16, because it is mostly a picture tool). It can also promote 2,500 NITs, so external visibility is not an issue.
6.3 “display is quite huge and is usable even when it is folded.
Although the crease has not disappeared, it is much smaller than the current standards. The phone is rated IPX8, so it is water resistant (up to 2 meters for 30 minutes), but there is no protection against particles.
The battery is a decency of 4,720mAh and supports fast wired and wireless charging at 66W and 40W respectively. It is not a fairly largest flip phone battery, but it is the largest.
Huawei was forced to do his work, so there is a Kirin 9020 chipset inside, which is sufficient for daily use, but there is no match for flagship chips from Qualcomm and MediaTek. Hornous will be a major issue for global audiences as it is separated from Android and Google Play services – this version of the harmonous is more than normal because it installs APK (supports global versions of OS). This means that we cannot run a benchmark. Instead, see Our partner x6 review For a glance how this chipset performs.
That said, Huawei has not announced plans for the global rollout of Pura X and the harmonous works smoothly with all Chinese apps and services. We want Pura X to join the roster of globally available Huawei devices, however, this is such an innovative design.
The interesting thing about Pura X is that Huawei did not develop new technology or correct existing people, such as for Met Exit Ultimate – as far as we can tell, it is a fairly standard foldable hardware.
However, Huawei’s out-box thinking created a design that is almost small as a flip foldable offering a large, more usable internal performance. It is very early to mention whether Huawei Pura X will be successful in the market, but we have to praise the company to create something new (and not even the first time).
