Huawei launches MatePad Pro 12.2, MatePad 12 X internationally | Infinium-tech
Huawei today introduced three new wearables. The event in Barcelona also saw the global debut of two tablets for the international audience – the MatePad Pro 12.2 and the MatePad 12X, which have been on sale in China for a few months now.
The MatePad Pro 12.2 features a dual-layer OLED display and a larger 10,100mAh battery with 100W wired charging, while the 12X is sold as the MatePad Air in China and interestingly, has the same battery as the Pro version.
The MatePad Pro supports keyboard and stylus. Unlike its bigger 13.2-inch sibling, which launches in late 2023, it doesn’t need a notch for its selfie camera and facial recognition software – its 12.2-inch screen is seamless with a 2,800 x 1,840 pixel resolution.
The MatePad 12 X and Pro have a PaperMate layer over the screen. It mimics the texture of paper, aims to improve performance for “young creators”, and is also easier on the eyes.

Huawei UK will bundle the tablet with a cover keyboard. You can buy the device from the Huawei Store and everyone who orders by October 22 will also get a free 3rd-gen Huawei M Pencil and a £100 coupon.
