Honor Magic7 RSR Porsche Design hands-on | Infinium-tech
The Honor Magic7 RSR Porsche Edition is the Ultra equivalent flagship phone in Honor’s portfolio. It has all the same high-end specs you get in the Magic7 Pro, but with the great Porsche design look, better display protection, and some minor changes to the Pro variant’s already excellent camera setup. Besides, it also has a big battery.
We got a chance to handle both the Magic7 RSR in Provence Purple and Agate Ash (Grey) colors following the global launch event of the Magic7 series, and these are our first impressions.
Starting with the design, the Magic7 RSR feels a bit heavier than its Pro sibling and like previous Porsche Design models, we have a large hexagonal camera island with some aggressive lines as a nod to Porsche’s racing heritage. You’ll also notice the large sweeping “flyline” at the rear, which fits right at home with the high-performance sports car look.

The back is made of glass and features Honor’s NanoCrystal Shield technology for added scratch and drop resistance. It has a satin-like matte coating that helps with grip, and it feels great when handling the device without a protective case.
While we’re talking about the back, let’s turn our attention to the cameras. We’re dealing with the same triple camera setup as the Magic7 Pro, but with a larger f/1.9 aperture on the 200MP 3x periscope zoom camera. This should translate into more light coming through the sensor compared to the Magic7 Pro’s f/2.6 aperture. Honor has also added a LiDAR sensor to help keep video stabilization under control.
The main 50MP camera is taken from the Magic7 Pro with its variable f/1.4-f/2.0 aperture and 50MP ultrawide sensor.
Next up, a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display. It has a trendy micro quad curve design, which bends the display on all sides. The panel also gets Honor’s NanoCrystal Shield protection with a special anti-scratch coating that is ten times more durable against scratches and drops than regular glass.
There is a 50 MP selfie camera inside the pill-shaped cutout, and it is paired with a 3D sensor for facial recognition and better depth effect in portrait selfies. You’ll also get an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner as you should find on a top-tier flagship in 2025.
The Magic7 RSR is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite and you can pair it with 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. It’s safe to say that we expect class-leading performance here, but we’ll have to complete our usual set of tests before issuing a verdict.
A few quick words on software. The Magic7 RSR demo unit we tested was running Honor MagicOS 9.0 based on Android 15 with Honor’s new AI features. These include Honor’s Magic Portal with circle-to-search, AI Super Zoom, and AI translation that works with Google Gemini.
And that’s the essence of the Honor Magic7 RSR Porsche Edition. Honor has gone ahead with its latest top-tier flagship, and it is definitely one of the best specced devices in the Android sector. We’ll be sure to update you with more details, including benchmarks and photo samples, in our detailed review.
Meanwhile, Honor will start shipping the Magic7 RSR from February 21, with a suggested retail price of €1,799 for the 16/512GB trim.
