HMD Skyline is now up for sale | Infinium-tech
HMD yesterday unveiled the Skyline smartphone, focusing on design and renovation reminiscent of the Nokia N9.
The Finnish Skyline is now ready to ship, asking $500/€500/£400 for its base 8/128GB version. Upgrading to the top 12/256GB Trip means you’re looking at a price of $600/€600/£500. Some regional websites also list the middle 8/256GB variant, but that’s not available yet.
The HMD Skyline comes with a Snapdragon 7S Gen 2 chipset and a 6.55-inch OLED display with up to 144Hz refresh rate and a 50MP selfie camera behind the punch hole.
There are three cameras on the back: a 108 MP main camera with PDAF and OIS, a 13 MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 50 MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and PDAF.
The battery capacity is 4,600 mAh and it supports 33W wired charging, but there is also 15W wireless Qi2 magnetic charging, unique in the Android world.
Apart from this, HMD Skyline also has another trick which the company calls Gen 2 repairability. There is a screw at the bottom of the phone which can be unscrewed to remove the back panel and then you can easily replace the screen, battery or USB-C port.
HMD and iFixit will also sell you the parts needed for a replacement.
