Gurman: foldable iPhone coming 2026 at the earliest | Infinium-tech
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman is back with another report on the long-rumored Apple foldable device. According to the man himself, Apple is “preparing a giant iPad that will open to the size of two iPad Pros at once”. That device is in development and scheduled to launch on the market around 2028.
Early prototypes of Apple’s foldable have advanced on the hardware front with an almost indistinguishable screen crease. According to Gurman’s sources, Apple is set on a 20-inch screen size when fully expanded. The actual size of the display could be 18.8-inch, according to Apple display roadmap leaked From the beginning of this month.

The device is said to be similar to what Microsoft envisioned with its Surface Neo and Lenovo did with its Yoga Book 9i. The main hardware difference is that Apple wants a single, seamless screen with no visible hinges on the front for a more intuitive experience. It looks a lot like the 2022 ThinkPad X1 Fold.
Apple’s first foldable will likely launch with iPadOS or a slightly modified version of that OS. While Apple is fully working on its foldable iPad, Gurman also detailed Apple’s plans for a foldable iPhone, which is not expected to launch before 2026.
