Google’s future Tensor chipsets will be manufactured by TSMC | Infinium-tech
Google’s tensor SoCs has been built by Samsung’s foundry till now, and was never seen as top artists or even the most efficient flagship chipset. But according to sources DigitimsThe upcoming tensor G5 chip will probably come out of TSMC feature. This is another confirmation of a rumor that we heard back in 2024.
The Pixel 10 series launch is determined for this decline and according to the latest reports, Google made a deal with TSMC, so the Taiwanese chipmaker will form the next few generations of tensor silicon. The report claimed that the contract is between three and five years, which means that the TSMC will probably produce a pixel 14 series of tensor.
This can be good news for Pixels in general, as TSMC has proved to be a more reliable chip manufacturer than Samsung. TSMC-manufactured SOCs are more powerful and efficient than their Samsung counterparts, even if chip design is the same. Remember that Snapdragon 8 gene 1 plus was more powerful and more efficient at the same time than Samsung-made SD8 General 1?
For anyone who follows the news cycle around Samsung’s chip construction business, they are unlikely. After all, Samsung has yield issues with Exynos 2500 chip, so the company had to use Qualcomm Chips for its entire Galaxy S25 lineup. As a result, this year’s Galaxy foldables will be the first to adopt Acinos 2500.
Issues go so deep that Samsung is planning an internal restructuring as Samsung MX (Mobile Experience) Division is getting ready to handle the chip construction business from Samsung LSI.
Either way, we hope that Google’s tenser chips will become more competitive and offer users to increase adequate performance and efficiency.
