Google will keep selling the original Pixel Fold | Infinium-tech

Earlier this week, Google made the Pixel 9 family official, and that includes the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, a successor to last year’s original Pixel Fold. Following the event, the Google Store has marked the Pixel Fold as “no longer available,” but apparently that won’t stay that way for long.

While we wouldn’t be surprised at all if Google decided to discontinue the Pixel Fold in view of the launch of its successor, that’s apparently not the case. A statement from Google makes it clear that the Pixel Fold will indeed return.

Google will continue to sell the original Pixel Fold

The company will start selling the Pixel Fold again, starting after the Pixel 9 Pro Fold becomes available, which is going to happen on September 4. So, if you were somehow desperate to get the Pixel Fold but couldn’t do it before this week, rest assured as you will have another chance in early September.

Google hasn’t revealed whether the original Pixel Fold will be discounted now that its successor is out, but we believe the company could offer a discount of $100 or so. Not enough to boost sales, but enough so that people won’t be able to complain that the price hasn’t been reduced. This is Apple’s way, and we see no reason why Google shouldn’t follow suit.
